Reflexology

Reflexology is based on the belief that every organ and system in the body is represented in reflexes on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet.

We work on the feet as they are larger and so the the reflexes are clearer. By working on the reflexes we can remove blockages & imbalances in the body allowing it to work in harmony. It is a gentle treatment that is available from conception and birth all of the way through to illness and old age.

Reflexology allows the body to work in harmony

Our body is a machine of many parts, for it to work at its optimum everything must flow. Reflexology helps to remove blockages and imbalances in the body allowing it to work at its best. It is these blockages that cause illness and dis-ease in the body, we are helping to manage this.

It promotes healing

Reflexology is a great treatment to have after illness or surgery. By working on the lymphatic system we can help the body to remove those nasty toxins that leave us feeling groggy after illness and surgery, thus promoting healing.

It encourages a deeper and more restorative sleep

Reflexology is about balancing your mind, body and hormones. In doing this the body relaxes and clients report a deeper and more restful sleep following a treatment.

Anxiety and Depression

Reflexology helps you to feel ‘grounded,’ this is due to the treatment itself but also that ‘me time’ that the treatment provides. This time out during our busy lives allows us to switch-off from our stresses, alleviating the physical and mental symptoms of Anxiety and Depression.

Reflexology FAQs

Is it safe for everyone?

Most people can have Reflexology as it’s such a gentle treatment, you can always call to discuss your needs prior to the treatment to ensure it is the right treatment for you.

Does it hurt?

Reflexology is not a painful treatment, it is relaxing. Occasionally there may be an area of your foot that is more sensitive but we adjust the pressure and discuss why that particular area might be sensitive. This can often be an indication of an imbalance in the body and can be discussed during the treatment.

How will I feel after the treatment?

Everyone responds differently to treatments, most of my clients leave feelings relaxed and sleepy. I would recommend having Reflexology near a time when you can either have a nap or go to bed. After sleep clients often feel more positive and rejuvenated.

How many treatments should I have?

This depends on each client. With chronic conditions you may need more regular treatment to manage symptoms, for other clients treatments are for maintenance and may be monthly. This will be discussed with the client on arrival. I would always suggest having more than one session to really feel its benefits.
